Who do we help?

Individuals-children and young adults

FocusNest is dedicated to providing specialized support for children (from age 3) and young adults (until 40) facing the (dual) challenges of ADHD and/or trauma, with or without a (formal) diagnosis (inquire via email if you are not sure).

Because ADHD and trauma symptoms often require more than just 'talking' about their symptoms, we've come up with a creative and integrated approach that helps individuals to explore and understand their experiences, develop effective coping strategies (i.e. how to use breathwork to self regulate with stress, getting better organized by befriending the part that is disorganized through internal family systems, or identity exploration with art) and unlock their full potential for a more balanced and meaningful life.

Our goal is to help our client make sense of what happened to them, including uncovering patterns that no longer serve them, what they are currently experiencing and feeling, and heal holistically- body, mind, and spirit-by building and using tools for immediate and lasting emotional well-being, including having better relationships with others. 'Calmer Me, Calmer Us' - Emotional Intelligence 101 for Families

Raising kids with ADHD or trauma isn’t easy. It can leave you feeling stressed, frustrated, or even totally overwhelmed. And let's be real—if we just ignore those feelings, they can turn your home from a safe, loving space into a tense, not-so-fun place to be.

"Calmer Me, Calmer Us" is an interactive family workshop inspired by Harvard and Emotional Intelligence (EI/EQ) Society tools designed to help parents of ADHD and trauma kids boost their EQ/EI skills—and bring those skills into the home.

Specifically you will learn:

-About your own cultural understanding on emotions

-About Emotions and their purposes

-and how to respond effectively in various family situations so that you can lead with firm yet gentle parenting skills.

So, why is emotional intelligence a bigger deal than good grades?

Studies show that emotional intelligence is a game-changer when it comes to financial success, happiness, and building strong relationships. And with our proven, research-backed methods, you’ll find it easier than ever to help your family develop these life-changing skills.
